Back!

Well I just spent the last week and a half in Virginia for my annual Xmas trip to visit my Dad and Stepmom. I didn't see my Stepbrother since he was off in Egypt with his girlfriend this year. I got back Friday and spent the last couple of days in Santa Cruz. I can't believe it's almost New Years. I know it's cliche but time really does go faster and faster the older you get.

Virginia was the same as it always is, except this time around Richmond got two brand new outdoor malls. They actually have a Nordstrom in town as well as quite a few other major stores. It was definitely nice to see that the town is finally getting some decent shopping. I actually went out on the town this time around too. I went out with a neighbor son's who was in town from Orgeon and totally bored out of his mind. We went to a couple of bars downtown and hung out. The nightlife in Virignia is pretty slim pickings. We met some girls while we were out that pretty much said the same thing. I think if I lived in that town I would have to have a good social circle and take lots of trips to New York or something otherwise I'd go insane.

My dad keeps telling me that he wishes we lived closer together. Which means to me that it would be cool for him if I lived there. The only thing is I love living in California. I really do. Even the thought of moving to Seattle (potentially for job reasons, who knows) kind of freaks me out. I would probably only really consider moving to Europe or something. I love it here though, it's hard to imagine living anywhere else. Although there may come a time when I have to. It's impossible to own anything here without a dual income or a very large income. I can't see myself ever owning property here on my own and at this point I'm still on my own and my prospects of not being on my own are not looking great at this point in my life. Blah blah blah same old story!

Anyway, it's great to be back. Happy Holidays!
