Just Call Me Gimpy, EVERYONE Else Is!
What a weekend! I stayed in Friday and Saturday night which was okay. I was a bit stir crazy after working so much the last couple of weeks and then not going out this weekend but it turned out okay. I was seriously sleep deprived. Anyway, Sunday I finally got another car. I'll post photos and details later. Woo! I'm excited!
Sunday night I went to see The Vines and Jet at the Warfield with Jeremy. That was actually a damn fun show! We had a good time, and the crowd was decent. Not as young as I thought it would be but there were still a few kids there. Jet sounded very AC-DC'ish at times, it was a good live show. The Vines were a little bit of a let down after seeing Jet but they were still good. They all had that shaggy not short, not long dirty 70's type hair thing going on with the weird band t-shirts and one guy had some pretty fruity looking tank top on. I guess that's the thing these days.
On the way out of the show via the backdoor, I twisted my ankle sideways on a metal plate on the sidewalk and fell over. I was wearing my big boots which have 4 1/2 inch heels on them! I got a nice purple bruise on one knee and sprained my ankle. It was rough making it back to the car and driving home was a bit of a pain but I made it! Went to urgent care Monday morning in Sunnyvale and found out that I have a level 2 sprain on my ankle. The doc said I probably tore some of the ligaments a bit. I'll be in a stupid bandage and air cast for the next 10-14 days until it heals. So I have to hobble around everywhere I go and endure the constant mocking of my co-workers. Oh.... it's all in good fun! Wait until they hurt themselves, then it's open season! I think the real pain in the neck (pain in the ankle?) of this whole thing will be the fact that I have to wear a nice dress and go to a wedding on Friday wearing some sort of shoes that accomodate an aircast. So I won't be wearing my nice black strappy heels dammit. Instead I'll be wearing something with short heels that slip on, even though I'm supposed to be in tennis shoes, or regular shoes for the next two weeks. I'll just stay off it on Friday. I promise. And I can't party TOO hard this weekend or else I'll make it worse. I have a huge lump on the side of my ankle and it's starting to turn a nice dark purple. Very attractive.
Today's Horrorscope:
Take care of business, and do it diligently. The good news is that once you're finished and free to do as you like, the universe will be only too happy to provide you with a wonderful distraction.
Okay I just finished working my ass off for the last two weeks. Gimme!
