Movie Recommendations

Secretary: Before I forget to mention this. I really really liked this movie. It was twisted and bizzare but I loved James Spader (another Pretty in Pink alum!) in it and their relationship was actually pretty romantic.

Plot Outline (via imdb.com): A young woman, recently released from a mental hospital, gets a job as a secretary to a demanding lawyer, where their employer-employee relationship turns into a sexual, sadomasochistic one.

Dawn of the Dead (the new version): This movie was the best! I LOVED IT! It was scary, fast paced, the characters were fun and there were a lot of funny jokes in it. I laughed a bunch and was on the edge of my seat. FANTASTIC! This one's a MUST MUST SEE! Hey Entertainment Weekly gave it an A. Can't argue with that!

Plot Outline (via imdb.com):
The survivors of a worldwide plague that is producing the flesh-hungry undead, take refuge in a mega shopping mall.

The tag line from this movie, "When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth." was originally uttered by Stephen the tall black policeman from the original film. He also uttered it in the new film as the televangelist. See below.

Notable cameos in this movie include:
Tom Savini as the Sherrif. Tom Savini is best known for doing horror movie special effects. He was also not only in the original movie but did all the makeup for it.
Ken Foree as the Televangelist. He was best known as Peter the cop from the original and Leroy 'Bubba' Brown in From Beyond, another favorite of mine.
Scot Reiniger as the National Guard General. He was also in the original as Roger the other cop that eventually turns into a zombie. He looked so different in the new film. I didn't even recognize him until I read that he was in it after the fact. He didn't age as well as the other guys did.
Gaylen Ross, who was Francine in the original, didn't appear in the film but one of the stores in the mall was named 'Gaylen Ross'. She would have been a great cameo! I'd love to see what she looks like now.
I guess David Emge who was Stephen in the original didn't warrant anything? No info on that.

I have other fun Zombie movie factoids I'll put in a later post when it's not so late. Zombies are, of course, my most favorite horror movie baddie of all time.
