Wow, Where Have I Been?

Sheesh, long long time no blog. I don't think I've ever gone this long without blogging. I just haven't had time and haven't had the motivation to write.

So what have I been up to in the past month plus? Well let's see...

1) I went to Vegas. Stayed at the Aladdin and generally had a good time. I ate lots of buffet food and won $400 plus on the Wheel of Fortune slot machine. Yay! I wish I could have played Texas Hold 'Em but it just didn't work out that we could get a table together. There was some drama while we were there with a friend that came along and some drama on the way home from the airport but that's all over and done with now. Oh, I did go get the most amazing massage and facial at the Aladdin spa. That place is so awesome, best spa I've ever been too. Very extravagant.

2) I've been to Seattle three times this year! I went up again last month for a big MSN celebration which was a lot of fun. We stayed at the Sheraton Towers which was super nice and the party was huge. Earth, Wind and Fire played which was okay. I partied with some crazy hotmail folks and stayed with my friend Cristy again. Im a bit burnt out on Seattle.

3) I missed the Beastie Boys show from being to burn out to go that night but I did see the Pixes last weekend. They were good but the Greek Theater in Berkeley is the most uncomfortable place to see a show. You're sitting on these concret slabs with nowhere to move around or lean back. Of course we weren't smart like my friend Katherine and we didn't bring blankets to sit on. We did wind up mingling around up top though which was just fine. It took us forever to get there though because of traffic, so it's not my first choice of place to see a show. In fact the last time I saw a show there I believe it was Crowded House... about a million years ago. I also saw UB40 there in high school, haha.

I was supposed to see Morrissey at the Now and Zen fest in Golden Gate park but he canceled and there was no way I wanted to use my $40 ticket to only see Tears for Fears which we were late for anyways. This is particularly annoying because we all got half off tickets for Lollapalooza in order to see Morrissey and they canceled the whole tour. Why doesn't Morrissey just tour on his own?!

4) I've been going out a lot, to local shows and hanging out with my friends. It's been fun. I'm kind of in a strange transitional period right now. I'm focusing more on my personal life than my work life lately which is good and bad. Bad because work is pretty demanding particularly since I've put so much into in the last two years. Good because I'd like to get to where I will be really happy in my personal life and that does take some time investment. So we'll see how that goes.

5) I'm taking Toby to advanced dog training classes for the next month. Wow he sucks at staying for more than five seconds, what an embarassment! He did so well in the first two levels. He's doing okay but he just gets way too excited by food and it's hard to get him to focus sometimes. He needs to learn how to mellow out.

6) I took Beginning C and I just started C Programming Language 1 tonight. I'll be doing that for the next couple of months. That includes homework, argh.

7) I was sick AGAIN this past month. Bronchial infection this time. Funny how the year I start working out is the year I get sick FIVE times.

So as you can see there's lots going on. I've been up in SF a lot too so that requires a lot of driving back and forth. Suffice to say I'm tired tired tired. Overall I'm pretty happy but things are hectic and in constant flux, so I'm a bit antsy/anxious as well.

Next month we're all heading to Disneyland. November I may go up to Seattle for Thanksgiving and December means back to Virginia for Xmas with the folks. Hopefully it won't be another month and a half before I post again. We'll see!
