Coachella 2005

I'm headed back to Coachella this year! I last went in 2003 and it was one of the best trips I've taken in recent years. Palm Springs is gorgeous and we had a fabulous house with a pool and a hot tub to lounge around by. We got the same type of house this year, but bigger. I'll be going with Fred and Katherine again. Joining us will be Nate and Jeremy. Jenn and her girlfriend CeCe may be staying one night with us as well.

I keep getting asked who's playing and there's so many bands I can't recall most of them at the time. So I'm including a list. I'm putting a *** next to the ones I'd like to see. By the way I have to add that seeing the Cocteau Twins again and Bauhaus as well is so cool. Peter Murphy! Daniel Ash! I've seen Nine Inch Nails a few times back in the day so that will be a nice trip back in time. And I LOVE Prodigy! They are so great live. I saw them at the Warfield years ago when their "The Fat of the Land" album was big. What a great album. Can't wait.

Oh if you're in the SF area Bauhaus will be at the Warfield August 17th and 18th. The Cocteau Twins will NOT be touring though... ALSO Dead Can Dance is touring again! Europe only so far but they'll add North American dates for this fall. This is like a revival of 1989-1991 for me. Gosh has it been that long?!

We'll probably go to more shows Saturday and go later on Sunday to maximize our pool time. Keep in mind that a lot of the Coachella bands will come through town (here in SF) either before or after the tour so keep an eye out for your favorites if you can't make it down there.

I'm completely jealous!!! What an awesome line up. I've already seen a few of them:

Coldplay (2 x's once at Benaroya Hall, where the Seattle Symphony performs), Keane (there pianist is a NUT), Snow Patrol, Josh Wink, Eisley, Bright Eyes (in Germany), The Secret Machines (gives new meaning to "going ape sh*t), The Prodigy (I had the biggest crush on Keith Flint back in the day, Music for a Jilted Generation is by far one of the best electronic albums EVER!),

I would give my left arm and quite possibly my first born to see NIN, New Order, Bloc Party, Spoon, Radio 4, The Arcade Fire, Jem, M83, M.I.A, The Chemical Brothers and Kasabian!
