The Outsiders

I loved this movie! I cried during this move. I cried everytime I watched it like ten times after the first time I'd seen it. I got emotional everytime I heard "Stay Gold" by Stevie Wonder. I read all of S.E. Hinton's books because of this movie and I still have my first copy of The Outsiders to this day. The 80's were a great decade for movies, crazy fashion and music. I miss it. Coppola's putting out a 20th anniversay edition of The Outsiders this year. I can't believe it's been TWENTY YEARS! Holy crap!

Remember this?

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

-- Robert Frost

I remember enjoying the book but hating the movie. I actually remember walking through a train yard after reading the book and thinking to myself "Maybe I should jump on a train and get the F' out of this town!"

I just got done reading the book in my English class and I LOVED the book, but when Jonny died, I almost cried, but for out English class, we're reading the book then watching the movie and I can't wait! And I'm going to have to memorize the poem this year in seventh grade. Lot's of people should read the book The Outsiders and go see the movie.
